Sayra Reyes, DVM - Urgent Care Veterinarian
Bio

Dr. Sayra Reyes grew up under the bright skies of San Juan, Puerto Rico, in a home full of dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, and birds. That early mix of paws and feathers turned into a lifelong commitment to animal health.

Dr. Reyes earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. She began on a pre-med track for human medicine, then discovered that her heart belonged in veterinary care. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Green!). After vet school she trained at Michigan Veterinary Specialists, where an early interest in dermatology gave way to the pace and purpose of emergency medicine. Fifteen years later, Dr. Reyes has built a career in emergency and critical care, managing everything from time-sensitive triage to complex, multi-system cases. Her clinical interests include urinary obstructions, acute toxicities, and immune-mediated diseases such as IMHA (immune-mediated hemolytic anemia) and ITP (immune thrombocytopenia).

Off duty, Dr. Reyes loves a good movie marathon, quality time with family and friends, and indulging in the occasional power nap that resets a long day. She also has a soft spot for cute corgis (because who can resist those little wiggly butts?). Her energy and genuine care for animals and their people make Dr. Reyes a trusted clinician, mentor, and friend.
